There seem to be quite a lot of people who are excited about what we're doing in Petersfield!

We've just spoken to amazing Adam (who set up and runs the southern music project) who was very encouraging and keen for us to explore opportunities for collaboration in the future. First ever rehearsal of Petersfield Children's Orchestra!

The first rehearsal of the newly formed Petersfield Children's Orchestra was a resounding success!

With 28 children attending, the sound was immense and Nicki's leadership meant that even the youngest children who had not been to an orchestral rehearsal before were able to join in.

We're looking forward to seeing where this takes you all!

Lots of you are signing up for the free first session of the new Petersfield Children's Orchestra!

Understandably, many of you haven't played in an orchestra before and are wondering what to expect - and are feeling a little nervous.

If this is you, don't worry!
All you need to do is turn up with your instrument (and ideally a pencil, but it's not the end of the world if you don't have one!)
We have everything else you need including stands, music, DBS checked volunteers (who are also musicians and lovely people) to help you set up and tune.
Nicki (the conductor) is making sure that noone has to be worried about difficult sight reading, so she's planning lots of musical games and easy pieces to have a go at for the first rehearsal, and there's absolutely no expectation at all that you will need to play these perfectly! You'll get to take some music away to practice for next time if you want to.
There's a really good mix so far of boys, girls, ages, instruments and standards - you won't be alone - and you won't be expected to play on your own!
Finally - there will be biscuits. We know you will judge us by our biscuits... we will try to live up to your expectations. :)

Southern Pro Musica donates 32 music stands to Petersfield Children's Orchestra!

We are so grateful for the generous donation of 32 music stands from the professional orchestra Southern Pro Musica which we will be using for our first rehearsal on the 26th April! Southern Pro Musica perform concerts in Petersfield and beyond, some particularly aimed at children. Do visit their website!

The first rehearsal for PCO is announced!

With just over a month to go it's all systems go to get ready for the first rehearsal of the newly formed Petersfield Children's Orchestra! The first rehearsal will be on Sunday 26th April, 3.15 at Herne Farm Leisure Centre, and we're currently signing up new members. The first rehearsal will be a free trial, so click HERE to sign up.

Please convince your adults that it would be a good opportunity for them to have some peace and quiet on a Sunday afternoon!!!
