UPDATE 21/4
| Lots of you are signing up for the free first session of the new Petersfield Children's Orchestra! Understandably, many of you haven't played in an orchestra before and are wondering what to expect - and are feeling a little nervous. If this is you, don't worry! All you need to do is turn up with your instrument (and ideally a pencil, but it's not the end of the world if you don't have one!) We have everything else you need including stands, music, DBS checked volunteers (who are also musicians and lovely people) to help you set up and tune. Nicki (the conductor) is making sure that noone has to be worried about difficult sight reading, so she's planning lots of musical games and easy pieces to have a go at for the first rehearsal, and there's absolutely no expectation at all that you will need to play these perfectly! You'll get to take some music away to practice for next time if you want to. There's a really good mix so far of boys, girls, ages, instruments and standards - you won't be alone - and you won't be expected to play on your own! Finally - there will be biscuits. We know you will judge us by our biscuits... we will try to live up to your expectations. :) |
